What Causes Dizziness In The Diabetic Patient?

My father has diabetes..and he felt really dizzy getting out the shower. Me and my mom gave him some sugar, and cookies, and hot chocolate. He seems to be feeling kinda ok...but he's sweating a lot, and he doesn't seem to be the same these couple of weeks. Also My dad has taken insulin for months now, and today he decided to take it. But he didn't check his blood, and i guess he injected a random dosage. Keep in mind that he doesn't check his blood anymore because he said its painful.

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Dizziness is caused by hypoglycemia. In this case, hypoglycemia is caused by high dosage of insulin.
It is very important to check blood sugar level before injecting insulin, because in this way he is going to dose it correctly.

I hope this answer is helpful to you.

Regards.
Dr. Behar.
