What Causes Distress Breathing Before Vomiting?

My 6 year old has been vomiting for the last 13 weeks off and on. The upper GI specialist let me know she has elevated liver enzyme and they are running test in a month to find out why the elevated enzymes. School called me yesterday and let me know that her complaint has been getting worse and the vomitting is more frequent and she seems to be having distress breathing prior to vomitting any Ideas what this could be from?
