What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing And Fatigue?

My Dad age 73 is having a hard time swallowing and is very fatigued. He's diabetic, has had 4x bypass 10+yrs ago and it sounds like his kidneys are getting pretty bad too. I think he is close to need to go on dialysis. His primary doctor is booked all week and so he can't get in until next week. We aren't sure if he should go to urgent care or wait until he can get in with his regular doctor

It would be best to bring him to urgent care, especially if this is of fairly acute onset. Difficulty swallowing can be related to nerve damage or even a stroke, and puts a person at risk of aspiration pneumonia, which can be very serious. Your dad has enough significant medical problems that anything could aggravate or be aggravated by them. I think it's important to figure out what's going on now and not wait a week, as things could get much worse by then. Hope this helps.
