What Causes Difficulty In Getting Blood Pressure And Erratic Pulse?

my husband has esophogeal cancer T-3/D-1 (diagnosed 4/6/11); just got out of hospital with pneumonia. had his gallbladder removed and the port installed. currently i am unable to get a blood pressure (and i am excellent at taking it); his heartrate is 68 and weak; thready, erratic pulse of 48. his eyes are unresponsive to light and he is acting altered. should he go to the ER?

You need to watch him for sometime because just heart beat and the pulse rate that is being red by you can not be taken as granted unless it is checked by medico, if the sensorium of patient is intact then it is nothing to worry, if the patient responds to verbal command then it is fine and no need to see the ER else you can see the ER.
