What Causes Different Blood Sugar Reading In Each Hand?

my father case his age 73 year he have diabet from 30 year as i am remember , yestrday in morning when he sleep his suger blood been low to arround 95 as fast test suger blood , his heart buls arround 58 in mint and 138 / 68 , his status back to normal when we give him some sweet food after fast blood suger test be arround 110 in left hand when still right hand 95 , i am make test again this day to left hand and give me reading 135 and right hand 95 for suger ,, he have insluin 3 time daily each time 30 ml , the last reading before give him insulin so i am not give him insulin in this night , why

Hello,

Under normal situation there should not be any difference between the blood sugar values in the left and right hand.
The other very interesting observation is that the blood sugar values is constantly 95 mg/dl in the right hand.
This may be attributed to causes like poor blood circulation to that part of the body or faulty techniques in determining the blood sugar.
You may need to check you glucometer for any error.

secondly tight control of fasting is not advised in the elderly patients like your father. They are prone to develop hypoglycemia which may be dangerous at times.

Consult your doctor for dose adjustment of insulin.
