General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Delayed periods can occur commonly due to hormonal imbalances, blood disorders (anemia), stress & anxiety, serious medical conditions like Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOS), Thyroid dysfunctions (hyper or hypothyroidism), Diabetes, Uterine Fibroids/Endometriosis, Pelvic inflammatory diseases or cancer or menopausal phase.

Take iron & calcium supplements, food (fruits & veggies) rich in minerals, do regular exercises, take adequate sleep, stay away from stress & addictions if any. Continue to take the birth control pills but you are recommended to get physically examined, evaluated & treated if your symptoms are persistently causing you discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
