What Causes Delayed Periods Along With Frequent Urination And Fatigue?

I am 29 years old, have had two children which required medication to conceive. I am 5 foot 3 and 174lbs. My last period was April 16th 2015. On May 31st I had extreme pain in my lower abdomen which felt similar to contractions. I was expecting it to be my period, but after the pain left there was no sign of a period. Since that time I have had slight cramping, frequent urination, fatigue, slight constipation, a episodes of dizziness and nausea. I have taken a home pregnancy test which was negative and went the doctor for a blood test, since I could not get positives test with either of my children until I was 7-9 weeks pregnant. The doctor just wants to give me progesterone to see if it will induce a period. Should I be concerned by anything else?

Hi,

I feel to take a Progesteron course with your doctor's advise would help in knowing the diagnosis (taking into consideration your previous experience) as Progesterone will not induce periods in case you are pregnant. It will not harm pregnancy also. You can diagnose it by ultrasonography at 5 weeks of pregnancy. But if you are delayed without pregnancy, the pills will induce periods and in such case you have to get investigated to exclude PCOD, ovarian or thyroid problems.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
