What Causes Delayed Period While Urine And Blood Test Is Negative For Pregnancy?

hi i m sara.got married in 2008.cant conceive till.this time for the first time my periods late for 23 days.both blood and urine test negative.take medicine for periods but in vein. should i wait more or get medicine for periods?m so tense.my periods never ever disturb before, what should i do now?

Hello,

Since you are trying to conceive, you should wait for a couple of days, if you do not get your periods, you should visit your gynecologist get repeat urine test done with the first morning midstream urine. You should also get a blood test done as HCG shows faster in the blood than in the urine. You should get USG (Uterus with tubes) done to confirm pregnancy.

Do not induce menstruation in a hurry. If you are pregnant, you will be taken care of and if you are not, you will have to go through a few more investigations to detect the pathology so that treatment can be started at the earliest.
