What Causes Dark Blackish Green Stool Colour?
Dear Sir,
Today morning I passed stool that was half brown and half of it dark blackish green that started worrying me. Then I again went to relieve myself in the afternoon (Which I usually do regularly) and this time the color was dark green that was sticky and soft. This has not happened to me before. Also please note there was no blood sign. I have been suffering from GERD and acidity problem but moderate. I am already an anxiety patient and this has got me only more anxious !

Hi,
Noted the history of passing half brown and half of it dark blackish green stool in the morning, and was dark green that was sticky and soft in the afternoon, no blood, suffering from GERD, have anxiety.
Green stool is indicative of an active infection, black can be altered blood is known to occur in infections, mucus too due to same. I would advise you the following:
- Send the sample of stool and blood for tests.
- Clinical evaluation and examination by your Doctor to get started on a proper antibiotic, Metronidazole, PPI like Omeprazole and supportive therapy like rehydration, electrolyte balance, Probiotic and so on. Complete the course and you will be fine.
