What Causes Constant Vaginal Discharge Post Tubal Ligation?

Hi there - I have great concerns. For the past 4 years a have had 5 tubal/ovarian cysts removed. When I had the last one removed in 2014, I ask the doctor to do a tubal ligation and also had ablation done. Since then I have had a constant discharge, most of the time it has red or brown blood strings in it. For the past few months it has gotten worse. I have extreme pain with ovulation and also during my period. After sex I swell up and can hardly walk from pain. I have now started to get lower back pain and my tailbone feels numb. My hip bones are also paining. I am constantly tired. In the past month I have become so constipated that the only way for me to go is if I use an enima. I halso have brown mucus aroud my stool.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lower back pain, constipation and brown mucus discharge in stools is suggestive of lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract abnormality like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
I suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment and examination of lower GI tract.
Colonoscopy is indicated to look for any abnormality or change in lower GI tract.
Pain during ovulation and menstruation is common, however, if the pain is extreme and unbearable, you may consult your gynecologist for pain killers to relief.
Vaginal discharge can occur due to infection, congestion of pelvic organs or during sexual stimulation.
If the discharge is associated with bad odor, there is suspicion of infection and you need to get the vaginal discharge examined for evidence of infection.
If there is no evidence of infection, congestion of pelvic organs is the other possibility.
I am of the opinion that these symptoms are due to some abnormality of genital tract and gastrointestinal tract organs.
Thus, I suggest you to first consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment.

Thanks and take care
