What causes constant head and neck pain along with thick mucus in the throat and difficulty swallowing. I also have numbness in my hands and feet often. Feel tired a lot with achy joints. I am over weight and out of shape, but generally do not feel well most of the time.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Two possibilities can be suspected. One is throat infection is causing pain in neck and headache. For which you can have lukewarm salt water gargles. along with nasal decongestant like ephedrine. Second possibility is of spinal nerve compression which is causing numbness in hands along with neck pain. My advice is to have orthopedic appointment for proper investigation and diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
