What Causes Condyloma Without Sex?

I am 20 years old, I have never had sex (or any variation: oral, ect) I have never even been touched in my private areas, nor have never touched another person's. I have had a wart-like thing pretty much on my anus. I was younger, and thought it was some sort of hemorrhoid...a few months ago I went to the gynecologist for the first time- they checked it out, I had surgery to remove it- then a couple months later I get a letter in the male from the gynecologist saying "condyloma confirmed" I didn't even know what that was. I've done research and everything I have ever read said it HAS to have a genital-to-genital contact to be transmitted. I am not one to doubt doctors, but what is the possibility I have been misdiagnosed?

Thank you for query.the possibilities of misdiagnosis after histopathology is unlikely.warts can be transmitted by skin to skin contact .it could have been infected to you in the child hood by skin to skin contact. The incubation period varies from days to months to years. Many times it would not have been significantly noticed as it is not in a visible area to you.i hope you get the doubts cleared. You can get back to me for any clarifications with the details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist
