What Causes Chronic Diarrhea Followed By High Fever And Rashes On Thighs?

my 13 y/o old son just had a bout with severe diarrhea on Sunday. Came on suddenly then he had a fever of 103.7. We went to the ER they did a full blood screen and ct scan bowels. All normal. Nasal swab for flu was negative. We came home and he vomited one time. Slept the night and his fever broke. Today he has a rash on his trunk and thighs. We have not traveled anywhere etc. Family Dr puzzled and no real answer as to what happened. Just concerned

This may be a case of Chicken pox where rashes started from trunk along with high grade fever. I will like to say to this patient party that rashes will last for 7-10 days along with high grade fever & severe bodyache. But it will subside spontaneously after 10-14 days. U need to cold sponge his body along with course of paracetamol. This child's body needs to cover up with calamine lotion cause there will be severe ithching.
