Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Cough And Cold Along With Swollen Lymph Nodes?
Im trying to help my husband figure out whats wrong with him. He has been sick for over a week now and we thought maybe it was the flu. It started in his chest with a little voice loss, a lot of coughing, and phlegm. Then it changed to more of a head like cold symtoms. And now yesterday he woke up and his lymph nodes from behind his ear down to his neck were ABNORMALLY SWOLLEN and he had a slight fever. Also runny nose, feels very tight tension and hurts feeling like pins and needles when he eats.
Since, when he is coughing? What is the color of sputum? Is he diabetic? History of any allergy? Any bronchial asthma previously?
I think he may be suffering from acute viral bronchitis with pharyngitis with rhinitis with lymphadenopathy. Need to check oral cavity for tonsillitis other infection. Need to check ear for any middle ear infection.
Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling. Also, use tablet Alday DC, twice a day for five days.
He may need to consult ENT specialist/physician for to rule out pneumonia or bronchitis and get treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
