What Causes Burning Sensation In The Groin Area After Taking Cephalexin?

I took cephalexin for a root canal. After a few days I started to itch and burn so after the six day I stopped. I have continued to itch and burn in my vaginal and anal area. I now have had a rash, itching and what looks like little cuts . This is very painful . Is there anything I can do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have developed yeast infection due to the use of the antibiotics. You can use miconazole cream from the outside, at the red itchy area (you might need to apply the cream 2 cm beyond the rash) and clotrimazole ovules intravaginally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
