What Causes Burning Sensation During Sleep?

I have a burning sensation that start 1 to 4hours after going to bed and it does not get better. When I get up it seems to go away until the next night. I am marginall diabetic and have a low level diistolic heart condition. Am on blood pressure control medication and synthroid.

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Your symptoms are caused by endarteritis. Endarteritis is the inflammation of the inner lining of an artery. In your case it is caused by Diabetes mellitus.

You should keep your blood sugar level under control. To do that you should follow these guidelines:
1. Avoid carbohydrates and alcoholic drinks.
2. Quit smoking(if you do smoke).

To treat your condition you should Amitriptyline.

To confirm the diagnosis you need a doppler ultrasound.
Contact your diabetologist to discuss about the diagnosis and treatment.
