Hallow Dear,

Usually burning after or during intercourse is experienced with vaginal infestations like Fungus (yeast) or Trichomona. Both the infestations may coexist.

Since you have recently finished a course of antibiotics, the chances of fungal infection are very high. These antibiotics kill the normal inhabitants (Lactobacilli) of vagina. These bacteria protect from many infections and fungal infection is one of them.

In fungal infection, there is curdy flaky white discharge and vaginal itching while the Trichomonal discharge is greenish white with froth and also causes itching. The former can be treated with local antifungal medicines while the later can be cured by Metronidazole. However, since these infections are transmitted sexually also, both the partners should take the treatment simultaneously.

Along with these medicines, please practise Lactobacilli perineal cleaning. Lactacyd is a one of the product for this.

Till both of you are completely cured, please observe strict sexual abstinence.

Please report to your Gynaecologist ASAP.

I hope this helps you.
