Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have 3 unexplained burn marks on the underside of my right wrist that are oblong and red. One of them peeled. This happened ten days ago. Also, at the same time, my left index knuckle on the outside looked burned and then turned purple and peeled yesterday. What could this be?
* As per my clinical experience, the burn marks on the underside of the wrist , index knuckle with turning purple and peeling over a period of time do indicate possible issue of eczema most likely.
* The various auto immune or hypersensitivity issues do play a role in the development of such skin lesions.
* Kindly follow basic guidelines as below
- keep the part clean with antiseptic liquid or soap
- local application of calamine lotion or aloe vera gel
- avoid sun exposure without use of sun screen lotion of 30 - 50 factor strength
- avoid smoking or alcohol if consuming
- control of blood sugar.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
