What Causes Brownish Discharge During Menstruation?

I had my period on the 3rd of this month and I just urinated and when I wiped I had brown discharge. My boyfriend and I do live together and do have sex on a regular basis and we do use a condom. I haven't had a missed period, but this scared me what could this be?

I understand your concern
Brown discharge during menstruation,can be -
- accidental breakage of condom resulting in pregnancy. Implantation bleeding can be seen as brown discharge. Here pregnancy needs to be excluded.
-When period is delayed, it may start with brown discharge,usually followed by normal bleeding.
-pelvic inflammation, vaginal infection can cause brown discharge in menstruation
-Hormonal imbalance leads to such complaint too( PCOD, Ovarian problems,endometriosis.)
You need to consult a gynecologist ,get thoroughly examined, investigated & specifically treated.
