What Causes Breathing Through Mouth And Snoring While Sleeping?

Hi,

My 3.8 Year old daughter, breathes through her mouth when she sleeps. It is almost like she is snoring and at times we feel she is finding it difficult to breath. During the day also she is breathing through her mouth. She does not have cold or cough, no running nose either.
Have checked with her doc, he mentioned it is due to the cold weather.

Just worried. Please could you let me know if it could be some serious problem or is it something that will go away with time.

Thanks.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM .
Mouth breathing and snoring in a child may be due to Adenoids.
Sometimes it may be due to enlarged tonsils
Snoring can occur normally without any cause in children.
Hope this reply is OK for you.
