What Causes Blood-tinged Vomitus While Having Tuberculosis?
My father is a tb patient..it attacked him second time..after 4moths only we came to know.. Now he is taking medicines.. And he is a sugar patient too..sugar is varying to very low and high during some days..today he vomited small amounts of blood twice. What would be the reason?
Your father is having tuberculosis infection in which blood can be expelled out in sputum....
But according to your history you have blood in vomitus ....For that following causes has to be searched for..... -Liver disease like cirrhosis leading to esophageal variceal bleeding -peptic ulcer -gastritis -stomach tumour etc.....
There is also possibility of spread of tuberculosis to organs other than lung..
So you might need investigation with USG first and if needed endoscopy done for further work up.
According to cause further treatment can be given.. For ulcer and gastritis simple omeprazole capsule course effective
Take care
Advise : Consult physician for examination
