What Causes Blood In Urine To A Diabetic?

I have had type I diabetes for 30 years and the doctor said I now need to go to a specialist because I keep showing blood in my urine. I have made an appt but can't get in for a few more weeks. I now am having pain on my right side and back. This can cause bouts of nausea as well. What can it be?

Dear i can understand your concern the cause of blood urine can be
1.most commonly renal stone which is treatable and recovery is complete
2.some times it can be infection
3. very rarely it can be cancer also
kindly meet a urologist for further evaluation.
if possible kindly let me know what medications are you on.
