What Causes Blood In Stools And Abdominal Pain While Passing Motion?

Hi, My husband having a blood in stool for last 3 weeks, initially it was ocassionaly like 1 or twicea week, but this week its look like 3-4 time a days, this stool contail lots of mucus with gas. We call the primary care dr, in that visist they recomandad bunch of stool test those result we are waiting, he had his colonoscopy 3 years back and that was normal i polyp was found in recum othewise it was okay, in his last visit the blood test came back normal also.

he did not had this symtomes before any time in his life, he is also feeling pain in upper abdomen when he goes for motion.

i am wondering whar is the issue, if i can get answer.
