What Causes Blood In Stool?

I had a colonascopy 1 1/2 yrs ago perferctly clean. I am a person of very high axiety and stress level always worrying.... I have had some bright red blood on my stool and on the tissue off and on. I do at times seem to have to push harder than normal which causes pressure so I think possibly it may be a tear or hemrroid. I mentioned this to my Dr. last month and he did a retal exam (with glove) and said everything appeared to be fine. I just get nervous.

Hi and welcome.
In most cases these are small hemorrhoids that bleeds and may not be detected by rectal examination. Also, hard stool or fisure may cause it as well. You should soften your stool, and haev easier diet and see will it improve. If not, you should do rectoscopy to see is there a polyp or mucosa bleeding. Wish you good health. Regards
