What Causes Blood In Stool?

Hi, I ve had blood in my stool each of the last 3 days. Its strange because it occurs during the same movement each day, typically around 2:30 in the afternoon, but not during any of my other movements during the day. I have had the diarrhea for about a week, and achy flu like symptoms. Is this something I should have checked out?
