What Causes Bloating Of The Abdomen With Pain In The Groin?

MY doctor has ordered an ultrasound as I have had two inguinal hernias repaired 3 years ago and I m suffering with severe bloating to the point I look pregnant. I m a 25 year old male. I also suffer with nerve pain in the groin any ideas what he could be looking for and why?

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of 2 inguinal hernia repairs 3 years ago, have developed severe bloating to the point that you looks pregnant, you are 25 years old male. Also suffer from nerve pain in the groin.
Your history is indicating of an intestinal obstruction which may not be related to the the surgery you have undergone.
I would advise you the following.
X-ray of the abdomen in standing position to assess if there is an intestinal obstruction and if present needs surgery to correct the causative agent.
Ultrasound may not be really helpful and on the contrary, CT scan of the abdomen with contrast could have told the relationship with hernia repair.
At surgery also we can be sure about the same.
The nerve pain is usually due to the the nerve entrapment in the scar of the previous surgery.
