What Causes Bleeding From Ears After Wax Removal?

Hello! I took my 11 month old son in to see his pediactrician for a suspected ear infection. She had to remove wax from his ears to get a better look. In doing so, his one ear bled just a tiny bit. Is this normal or should I be concerned that his eardrum was ruptured?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. Removing wax from the ear is always a delicate procedure. Occasionally, the instrument used can gently scrape the ear canal and cause minimal bleeding. This is not uncommon, nor is it worrisome.
