HI, my baby occasionally poops in black colour.Sometimes some part of the poop is black and the rest comes out in brown. She is highly constipated and passes motion like round balls. She doesnt have any other problems- no abdominal pain,is gaining weight normally..

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, black color stool in pediatric age group could be due to diet or medicine given but it may not be due to any disease condition unless it is being confirmed or diagnosed some illness and for that it may requires many investigations but without any other associated symptoms it may not be the disease condition but it seems to be due to diet or medicine alone, on routine basis stool can be sent for lab test just to rule out the presence of blood hope this information helps.
