What Causes Anxiety Attacks?

For the past few months now, I have been getting the most dibilitating anxiety attacks. They can be triggered by even the slightest sign of stress, or nothing at all. I start shaking, pulling on my hair, scratching my head and hands (I often scratch my hands, they sometimes bleed)and it gets hard to breath at times. I have always been a pretty anxious person, and have had panic attacks, but this isnt the same. Its so horrible, and all I wantis for these attacks to go away.
