Hello,

I think the nerve is irritated with the needle and the post this the movement. You have to take TENS therapy along with ultrasound therapy for reducing pain and inflammation of the irritated nerve. Having a physiotherapist help will be good for this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

I ve been getting acupuncture for abdominal pain. The acupuncturist will put a needle on the inside of my ankle. It almost shocks me when he puts it in and it makes my whole leg jerk. This is supposedly for my rectum, as I have inflammation in my rectum and colon. I have been for 4 or 5 treatments. Just today I ve noticed when I get out of my car seat or move in a particular way that I feel this tingling weird sensation. It has me very concerned. Any thoughts? Thank you.

My knees are killing me! I finished chemo (5 rounds) 1 1/2 years ago -- that s when occasional soreness started (mostly behind the knee). I had a CTscan 1 year ago and joint pain started shortly after -- especially the left arm where the port was. (Typical side effect of Isovue-370.) But it s been a year and it s come and gone. Two acupuncture treatments helped what they determined was tendon pain. Many months after, front of knees as well as back are more involved. I don t know if more acupunture is the way to go, or which type of specialist to see if not. I have never had any type of arthritis and it would be too coincidental that it arrives within weeks of chemo and CT contrast... and lingers on. I like to try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I am on anti-inflammatory diet (part of my anti-cancer diet). I do not like to take pain killers, even OTC, though I broke down and took two Advil tonight. (Small improvement... but it s not a cure.)

I m a 26 year old female that injured my back last year resulting in a herniated disc at L5-S1 with left sided radiculopathy . I m currently taking 1200mg gabapentin three times a day for burning to left leg. Dr had me try physical therapy (which didn t seem to help), acupuncture (didn t help), and 4 epidural steroid injections (only 1 helped). Since last July I ve had 5 UTIs (no prior history of UTIs). Since January I ve had a UTI every month. Sometimes my back hurts so bad I can t relax my muscles enough to pee. PCP had me see urologist to see if it was anything other than my back causing this-still awaiting results. Got an upright MRI done this past week since there s been no improvement in pain. MRI showed some new things that the traditional MRI never picked up last year. MRI stated L1-L2 3mm bulging disc mildly compressing thecal sac, L2-L3 3mm bulging disc mildly compressing thecal sac, L5-S1 7.5 central disc protrusion mildly compressing thecal sac, and loss of lumbar lordosis curvature. Not sure what should be done considering I ve done everything else I can. Started noticing within the last couple months that right after I urinate, I tend to leak a little. With all the UTI s I ve been getting, not sure if surgery would be the way to go if it s a result of the thecal sac being compressed. What should I do next?

I have R.S.D. & I have not been able to financially keep up with that condition (for me acupuncture , massage therapy & exercise are my preferred therapy) ~ I have been dealing with RSD for over 20 yrs and I am a 46yr female. I have a new situation ... when I eat any amount of food & any type of food I become extremely tired after eating and find myself needing to sleep very soon after. No amount of caffeine or exterior input has helped with this feeling or even being up & moving around doing anything (housework, driving, being out with others, etc) .... need help or suggestion. My family friend is Mary, and she lives in San Jose, California. She is about 60 years old, Asian, over 5 9 , originally weighed 160+ pounds. At the beginning of this year, Mary experienced extreme dizziness, lack of appetite, and vomiting. She checked into Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. I am not sure of what tests were ran on her but they could find nothing wrong with her. Mary then tried acupuncture which temporarily relieved her pain. Then she collapsed and she was taken to the Stanford Hospital, where they did a scan on her chest and they said that her lung is of interest. However, they could not find what was causing her lack of appetite. She was again checked into Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She has been diagnosed with lung cancer; however, the doctors believe that is not causing her lack of appetite and vomiting. At the beginning of the year, she was 160+ pounds. As of this week, she is 110 pounds. Sometime in this year, she had a seizure as well. She has gone through many doctors without any luck as to what is causing this major lack of appetite and vomiting of any food she puts down in her stomach. They brought in an infections specialist and he could not pin anything down. Their family member found on the Internet that tuberculosis was a close fit to her symptoms but they got a brain culture and they found it to be negative. From the looks of it, she has lung cancer and something else mysterious causing her to vomit and not eat. She has started some chemo sessions for lung cancer but at this pace, it s not the lung cancer that is killing her, it s this starvation. The doctors seemed to have focused a great deal on her brain and head, but I wanted to get your opinion on what it could be in her digestive system. They ve tried some various IV fluids but some reacted badly to her liver and even damaged her liver a bit. A nutritionist was brought in yesterday to discuss what she can have, but she just seems to be vomiting everything and even when she only has water in her stomach! I m sorry I don t have the exact details like family history for now but I can get them for you if necessary. If you don t think it involves the digestive system, could you tell me what part of the body you think it could be? Could it be the lung cancer or something really in her head?
