What Causes An Inflamed Cervix?

Need some answer for a friend. She saw a doc yesterday. The doc checked and found discharge coming from my friend cervix. The doc stated that her cervix is inflamed and that it could be a cause of some Std. My friend is worried since for the pass decade her first intercourse was in December of 2016 which condom was used. Would it be that the condom had broke. However, her doc order a blood test and result pending .The doc could not say what she have more than she stated cervicitics.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms are suggestive a condition called “cervicitis”. It is nothing but an inflammation of cervix. You can ask her to consult a gynecologist and get a culture and sensitivity of the discharge. If there is no discharge, a swab has to be taken.

Most probably it might be a fungal infection, antibiotics has to be started om the culture reports. As of now she can use Clotrimazole lotion to cleanse her genitals.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
