What Causes All Over Body Itching In An Elderly?

my 92 year old aunt itches all over, has beet red palms, tricuspid leaking into her liver and thinks she
has a food allergy causing the itching. She has lost 15 lbs and is very weak and gets blood transfusions.
I don't think she has a food allergy. Do you?

Very unlikely to have food allergy at the age of 92. Repeated Blood transfusions can cause allergy. Also what is the reason for her low hemoglobin for which she is getting transfusion.

One of the common cause of Low hemoglobin with Itching is Iron deficiency. Kindly get her Iron Profile test done and revert back .

Other possible cause for Itching is Liver failure . Get her Liver function test and revert back .

Till then she can apply calamine lotion all over her body everynight.
