Hello,

The most likely cause of the delay in the periods unless you are sexually active without any protection, is the hormonal imbalance associated with PCOD.

In the current scenario, the ideal thing to do would be a proper clinical evaluation, get blood counts, urinalysis and a sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route, to clarify the situation and plan further management. Induction of a period with progesterone followed by a couple of hormone courses should set the cycle back on track. This needs to be done after evaluation if hormone imbalance is confirmed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam, OBGYN
