Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband is having abdominal pain and when he relieved his bowels his stool was steaming and not like when u go to the bathroom when its cold and your stool steams from that. this steam was a different color and appeared like it was smoking. he has a history of problems with his liver. he's 23 and not over weight. by the way he lives in india so he eats an all indian food diet. whats wrong with him?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, as long as the abdomen pain is concern it may be due to colic but the diarrhea could be due to dyspepsia and even the consistency also due to the diet taken and it may not be due to any disease, if the consistency, appearance of stool creating some doubt then it has to be sent for lab test and that is the only option you have just clear the doubt, persistent symptoms could be indicative of some intestinal infection if this is so then it can be managed with either antibiotic and anti-protozoa or combination of these, hope this information helps.
