What Causes A Swollen Lymph Node In The Neck After Taking Tapazole?

MYHUSBAND has been taking tapezole for almost two years now because of an overactive thryoid. he s on it and off it depending on his bloodwork. He s back on 10 mg starting today. tonight he s complaining of a lump under his right upper jaw like a swollen gland and what feels like post nasal drip clogging his throat. He took it almost 12 hours ago. Any chance that after all this time he could have an allergy to the med?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms he is experiencing is not likely to be an allergic reaction to the medication.

It is more suggestive of possible seasonal allergy or viral upper respiratory infection.

You can take Cetirizine to reduce the post-nasal drip. You may also do warm saline gargle and steam inhalation twice daily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
