What Causes A Delayed Period And Stomach Cramps?

I messed up on my birth control last month so I decided to go without it so I would be on a regular schedule for my period. I am very bad about tracking my period but I always get my refill on the last day of it, and my refill was supposed to be on August 20th. I still have not started so I am worried I have a chance of being pregnant. My boyfriend and I had sex 3 times within that period of me not being on birth control but he pulls out. I am bloated, I have cramping, I have very slight yellowing underneath my eyes, and I have gotten nauseous only about 2 or 3 times. I have also went from being extremely hot to having to cover up with a blanket because I am so cold. One more possibility I am thinking is that I have taken adderall a bit in the past month. I have 3 jobs and go to school and it gives me the concentration and energy that just isn t there because of my schedule. I don t know if that effects menstrual cycles or not, but please reply ASAP. Thank you so much for your time

Hello,

You are having delayed periods and stomach cramps. You have not taken the contraceptive pills as is instructed, took Adderall. You had unprotected sex with your partner. Presently, you are bloating, missed periods, have stomach cramps, are nauseous and are also febrile.

Since you have not even taken emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours of unprotected sex, you can be pregnant. If you do not get periods, get a blood test or urine test for pregnancy done with the first morning mid stream urine. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get per vaginal examination done to detect bulky uterus.

If pregnancy is detected your gynecologist may ask you to get done USG (uterus with fallopian tube), to study the gestational age of the fetus or ectopic pregnancy. You will be managed accordingly. In case you are not pregnant, few required blood tests will be required to find out the pathology causing you symptoms and you will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
