What Causes A Deep Indentation At The Navel Post An Umbilical Hernia Surgery?

four years ago I️ had surgery for gallbladder removal. 6 months after I️ developed umbilical hernia. Had key hole surgery for both. It looks like my belly button ripped apart. Very little blood. But now a really deep hole and there at the end of the hole It looks really white. Feels like here is some pulling. I am about 20 pounds over weight. Recently lost some weight.

Hello,

I think your hernia may be repaired by placing the mesh at the area so the amount of fat in that area may be gone looks like deep hole in there so don't worry about it.

If you having pain or discharge from umbilicus, please consult your surgeon, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
