What can i use to remove the hair from pubic area without side effects ?

Hi! I have lot of hair growth on my body and especially around my penis region.. i want to remove them as i dont like so much hair.. once i used scissors to remove the hair n after i removed, i had itching for more than a week. Please help me with alternative methods!..
