What Can I Do To Protect Skin On Graft Site From Tanning?

i have skin grafts on both legs from knee to ankle and donor sights on top and bottoms of thighs from a gasoline fire 40 years ago. never have exposed legs to sun always wear long pants even swimming. going to the caribbean in 5 weeks and would like to wear a bathing suit for swimming. what can i do to protect the skin and will it tan at all, what about using a tanning bed for a few times ? will it harm my grafts. will a sunscreen hold to my scars? i tried some of the sunless tanning products but they dont hold to the graft sights and did not darken the skin
