What Can Cause Abdominal Distention?

I have been having abdominal distention after everything I eat to the point where I look 5 months pregnant, I have had blood tests, ultrasound, upper gi series, colonoscopy, endosopy, bravo capsule, xray and nothing found to show th cause and doctors just tell me this is IBS. I have had IBS for 10 years and I can tell you this is not IBS, I know my body. My question is, I broke my coccyx last year. Do you think that could have caused something wrong with my stomach?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Abdominal distension of looking 5 months pregnant with all the tests of CT scan Barium series, colonoscopy and all the investigations that you have mentioned indicate that it may be an IBS only and this is most probably related to the amount of stress and anxiety giving you aerophagia and thus the distension.
5 months pregnancy means the distension is in the lower abdomen and most likely to be due to IBS as has been told to you by your Doctors.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Get an opinion and evaluation by a Psychiatrist so that a proper management can be one that will help you for the IBS too.
Also identify the foods, beverages, factors that give you such symptoms and avoid all such things that give you such problems.
