What Can Be Done For Swollen Finger After Cut?

I cut my finger on a can on Friday, Saturday afternoon it swelled up. I have put peroxide on it, neosporin, and even iodine. The pus stuff had come out, but now it is sort of sore, and still swollen. What can I do, at times some things hurt to the touch.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of infected wound. I would advice an injection of Tetnus Toxoid as soon as possible(within 72 hours).

If i was your treating doctor then i would have definitely told you to start an oral antibiotic (penicillin or cephalosporin group) and continue it for a week

Topical antibiotic can be continued twice daily (neosporin or mupirocin)

An OTC pain killer like ibuprofen will help you with the pain and discomfort associated with infection
I find this answer helpful
