What Are The Signs Of Menopause?

Hi, I am 42 years old. By now i missed period for 2 month. I do have lower back pain, cramps. Took few pregnancy tests but they all were negative. I have one child and few years back i had five miscarriages. My doctor/ob at that time told me i did not have any physical problems. Is it possible that i go through menopause or could i be pregnant? Until now i had my period regularly every 25-28 days.

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, stress, hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease, or in perimenopausal period.
If the urine pregnancy test is negative, then the pregnancy is ruled out.
I suggest you to get your hormonal investigation done.
If these also normal, then the periods are more likely delayed due to the fact that you are approaching menopause.
To confirm menopause, you can get your serum FSH levels to confirm.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
