What Are The Signs Of Developing A Tampon Infection?

I accidentally left a super tampon in for 24 hours. I just took it out and there was a foul odor. I m assuming from the old blood that s been trapped in the tampon. I am terrified of TSS now. I have no fever or any symptoms, how quickly would they likely develop?

Welcome to HCM
I have read and understood your query
Hope it may help
TSS is caused by staphlococcus aureus that may take 2 to 10 days before it manifest. However Manufacturers of tampons sold in the United States no longer use the materials or designs that were associated with toxic shock syndrome. But you must have been very careful.
Right now stop using tampons for periods.Keep good care of hygiene.Drink plenty of fluids and dont stress out.If you feel any fever or malaise or see any rash developing in any part of body, see your doctor asap.Rest you dont need to worry about it now.
I will be happy to know if it was helpful. You can approach us anytime with another query
