Hi, I'm writing a short story about how we are all agents of our own demise. Could you describe what a patient in the final stages of AIDS looks like? Could you also explain to me how the majority of your patients first discover they have contracted HIV/AIDS? Specifically, what kind of test is used to detect it. Thanks you so much!
Hi, first of all early symptoms of hiv are persistent fever, chronic diarrhoea, weight loss, weaknesses, lymphadenopathy frequent infection etc. then in late stage immune system become weak further so patient have opportunities infections like candidiasis, cryptococcal infection etc. Hiv can be detected by various test. Routine test is elisa or rapid card test.but they detect antibodies only.so window period is more. Early detection can be done by p24 antigen or pcr. thanks for using health care magic.
