Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Thank you for the query.
Nikoran is a brand name of the drug Nicorandil (a vasodilator drug and potassium channel opener, used as an anti-anginal drug). This drug increases the oxygen supply to the cardiac muscles (myocardium), by dilating the blood vessels (arteries) and thus increasing the blood flow. It also has cardioprotective action.
Common side effects are headache (mostly at the start of treatment), dizziness, palpitations, weakness, flushing, increased heart rate and vomiting. Some subjects can also develop mouth ulcers, rashes and rectal bleeding.
Hope this helps you.
