Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
They had prescribed my father gabapentin 600 mg 3 times a day and I am just trying to find out alittle about them. I do that with all of his medication just trying to to see if there is any side effects that I need to know about. And wondering how safe they are.
Almost every drug has its side effects, some have mild while some drugs have severe side effects.
The common side effects of gabapentin are dizziness, drowsiness, unsteadiness, lack of coordination, tremors, etc. Other side effects of Neurontin include mood or behavior changes, depression, or anxiety.
Some patients may experience some side effects and some patients may not. Gabapentin is usually a safe drug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
