I am 37 years old and weighs 170 lbs which is 10 lbs more the weight i had before having my fourth child in January 2013. Prior to my last pregnancy my monthly period was clock work. After my baby in 2013 i decided to use the copper T which i used for exactly 15 months before removing it- i could not bear the heavy periods that would extend over seven days compared to my usual 5 days. Upon removal of the IUD i was told by my doctor that i had a cervical infection and was given treatment for two weeks. Upon review i was told by my doc that everything was ok now. After removing the IUD my period came and endured for my usual 5 days before inserting the IUD, however after that, and to date whenever i am having my period the blood is barely red and is more very light pink or close to brown. What could be hapenning to me?
Please discuss with your doctor to see if the new IUD inserted is Levonorgestrel eluding like Mirena. If so, the scarce and scanty bleeding can be explained by the effect of the hormones acting on the uterine lining.
