What Are The Reasons For A 5 Month Old Baby Passing Stool With Black And Green Particles After Starting Solid Food?

my daughter is 5 n half months old....i started with solids 4 days bak...she is passing stoll with sometimes black particles and sometimes green....i fed her banana, water fromboiled pulses and very little rice water..... plz tellme the reason and if everything is fine

Hi

Do not worry.
Since kids do not chew and the digestion is not much mature, they tend to pass undigested food particles as such in stools.

When kids are given banana, it is normal to see black particles even thread like structures in the stools. If you give them carrots, you can see orange colored particles and if you give beetroot you can see purple colored particles in the stools.

So do not worry.
When you start semisolids, do not forget to give water additionally to prevent constipation.
