What Are The Chances Of HIV Through Protected Sex?
Hello, I am 21 years ago and yesterday I had protected sex with a prostitute...... There were no instance of the condom ripping, nither did we do any oral or anal..... I'm very worried now that I may have contracted HIV.... I know the window period is 3 months but I've heard of this RNA test that gives results withing 2 weeks. Please adivce me as to wehre I can get this in Delhi and the possible costs involved. Thank you so much.
You should not have had sex with prostitute if you are so worried about HIV. Any way you did good by having protected sex. Please go to your nearest HIV counselling centre in Delhi, all government hospitals have it including AIIMS. You need not worry as the chances of HIV are very less in protected sex with rates approaching zero.
Regarding tests, you should wait at least 3 months before being tested for first time and then repeat test at 6 months for confirmation. This is done free in government hospitals or with minimum charges.
