What Are Implications Of A Small Sac During Pregnancy?

My daughter in law is pregnant (first trimester) Her ultrasounds from the beginning of the pregnancy have indicated that the sac is small. She has been bleeding and spotting since the weekend. She had an ultrasound on Tuesday. Fetal heart rate was good but sac is still small. No word on what the bleeding is about. I am wondering what are the implications of a small sac. From what I have read online, sounds like a good potential for spontaneous abortion, coupled with the spotting/bleeding. My daughter in law is not really telling us what her OB has said.

Hello, small sac means high risk of abortion in future so she needs full bed rest and avoid sexual activity at all times.
Keep taking medicines as prescribed.
All the best.
